Iceland is a gorgeous country that is well known for its charming landscape – and temperature! It is also a lesser known trend hub and has produced some excellent artists over the years, ranging from Bjork to Sigur Ros. Given that is it the least densely populated country in Europe, there is also an abundance of lush and beautiful landscape to be seen. These include the National Parks, which are some of the most outstanding areas of natural beauty in the whole of Europe. It also has a fascinating history, which is well displayed in the many museums that are around the country. These provide for an interesting insight into the folk customs of this magical land, focussing mainly on the late nineteenth century. Some particularly unusual finds include items crafted from reindeer or fish leather, as well as toys and utensils. Kjarvalsstaðir museum is devoted to modern art of both Iceland and Internationally.

Reykjavik is a particular hotspot for the hip and trendy. Reykjavik’s Hallgrimskirkja is world-renowned and is an interesting architectural feature of the town’s skyline. The Perlan (meaning "The Pearl" in Icelandic) is also one of Reykjavík's main landmarks. You’ll find an abundance of hip hangouts on top of a stellar art scene. There are also plenty of restaurants in Reykjavik; some great ones include Saegreifinn, which specialises in seafood, and the Steikhus where you can even sample whale steak. Aside from Rekyavik, for those interested in exploring nature you’ll find some excellent places to visit here – from the boiling mud pools and waterfalls of the countryside or discover it's other cities including Keflavik and Akureyri. Hiring a car will enable you to explore this wonderful landscape at its very best. There are some excellent driving routes around the country including the Golden Circle route – so a four-by-four is highly recommended to enjoy your stay here to the maximum
